Frenectomia lingual em paciente pediátrico: relato de caso

Resumen

Língua presa ou anquiloglossia é uma anomalia de desenvolvimento da língua caracterizada por um frênulo lingual anormalmente curto e espesso, resultando em movimento limitado da língua. A anquiloglossia pode afetar a alimentação, a fala e a higiene bucal, além de ter efeitos mecânicos e sociais. O diagnóstico de língua presa é baseado em um exame clínico. Deve-se avaliar a mobilidade e aparência da língua associada à inserção, assim como a inserção e o encurtamento do frênulo lingual. O manejo da anquiloglossia deve ser considerado em qualquer idade considerando a avaliação risco-benefício e devido à maior vascularização e mobilidade da língua; a frenectomia lingual deve ser realizada com menos eventos traumáticos para evitar complicações pós-operatórias. O objetivo do presente trabalho foi descrever através de relato de caso clínico a técnica de frenectomia lingual cirúrgica convencional realizada em paciente pediátrico que apresentava anomalia no freio lingual e prejudicava a sua fonação. Conclui-se que a cirurgia de frenectomia conseguiu devolver parte das funções normais da língua ao paciente e seus benefícios serão aumentados com a continuidade do tratamento fonoaudiológico.
