Abstract

Pyogenic granuloma is a benign lesion of inflammatory origin, commonly found in the oral mucosa, particularly in young adults and women. It is characterized by a vascularized mass that may develop following local trauma, usually on the gingiva. Although asymptomatic, the lesion may cause bleeding, especially when located in peri-dental areas. This study reports a case of pyogenic granuloma in a 35-year-old female patient who sought care with complaints of enlargement of the lower right gingiva and episodes of bleeding. Clinical examination revealed a red, firm, and mobile mass on the gingiva. Radiographs showed no bone alterations, and computed tomography also revealed no bone involvement. The lesion was removed through excisional biopsy, and histological analysis confirmed the diagnosis. The case showed a satisfactory outcome, with uncomplicated healing.
