Abstract

Supernumerary teeth, exceeding the normal dental count, can be found in both deciduous and permanent dentitions, often being impacted in the oral cavity. The aim of this study was to report a case of surgical removal of a supernumerary tooth impacted in the maxilla. Patient L.S.S, 17 years old, female, exhibited no systemic alterations. Through maxillary computed tomography, the presence of a supernumerary tooth was confirmed, and the proposed treatment was surgical removal. It was concluded that the surgical removal of the supernumerary tooth was successful, without post-operative complications. The effectiveness of the surgical approach and the quality of care provided were evidenced by the absence of setbacks in the post-surgical period, highlighting the importance of technical precision and attention to detail for a satisfactory recovery.
