Abstract

Aesthetic dentistry constantly seeks to develop techniques and procedures that restore the function and appearance of compromised teeth. In the context of aesthetic rehabilitation, tooth whitening and composite resin veneers appear as effective options for restoring adequate aesthetics and anatomy to upper anterior teeth. The present work aimed to report a case of a male patient, 21 years old, brown, born in ManausAmazonas, who attended the clinic at Faculdade do Amazonas – IAES, reporting as his main complaint “a darkened tooth and smaller than the others ”, which caused aesthetic impairment of the smile. Anamnesis and extra and intraoral clinical examinations were carried out. In the exams, no deviation from normality was observed. It was observed that the patient presented an aesthetic disharmony in his smile due to the dental element 21 having an irregular shape, with wear, a rough surface and a yellowish color. As a treatment plan, the dental elements were whitened, the previous restoration was removed and the resin veneer was implemented on the irregular element, restoring harmonious aesthetics to the patient. The restorative approach provided satisfactory aesthetic results while preserving the remaining tooth structure, restoring the symmetry of the smile, especially as it was preceded by careful diagnostic planning.
