The oral lymphoepithelial cyst (OLC), also referred to as a lymphoid cyst, is an uncommon benign lesion originating from stratified squamous epithelium associated with lymphoid tissue. Its most accepted pathogenesis involves the entrapment of embryonic epithelium within lymphoid aggregates, leading to subsequent proliferation and cystic transformation. Although most frequently reported on the floor of the mouth and the ventral surface of the tongue, it may also occur on the lateral border of the tongue, where its rarity may result in misdiagnosis as other cystic lesions or even neoplastic processes
